Cornelia “Corrie” ten Boom was born into a Dutch Christian family who devoted their lives to charitable causes. They helped many Jews escape the World War Two Nazi Holocaust. Due to an informant, Corrie and her family were arrested and sent to concentration camps. Corrie survived and continued her charitable works by helping other Holocaust survivors and also writing many books about her experiences. Her autobiography, The Hiding Place is a best seller and was later made into a movie.
